The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ive Krupenko in the 27th minute of play forced Skofja Loka MNK's goalkeeper Slaviša Vlachy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Danče Završan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hektor Venek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danče Završan in the 32nd minute of the match. 34 minutes into the match, New Greenhorns's goal looked a bit too open when Danče Završan came free, but Hektor Venek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lambert Ponikvar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Slaviša Vlachy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Danče Završan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hektor Venek having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Klaudijo Kuplenk in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hektor Venek saved New Greenhorns from getting behind. Erik Šuster charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erik Šuster the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 57th minute, Erik Šuster hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Klaudijo Kuplenk struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Hektor Venek didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Skofja Loka MNK. After a defensive mix-up in Skofja Loka MNK's zone, Lambert Ponikvar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Slaviša Vlachy came out of the goal and Lambert Ponikvar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee ignored New Greenhorns's protests and gave Slavko Krašnja a yellow card for diving instead. Skofja Loka MNK's Slaviša Vlachy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lambert Ponikvar in the 93rd minute of play. If Ive Krupenko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
