The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Through an outstanding action, after 3 minutes, Lucijan Kovačević successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The supporters of Cerkno ND booed when Rogatec was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vojimir Raković didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antiša Rejc in the 25th minute of play forced Rogatec's goalkeeper Lucijan Kovačević to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rikardo Turk might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Salih Naprudnik. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rikardo Turk ran back to his position shaking his head. Rogatec's Celestin Purgar got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rikardo Turk in the 39th minute of play forced Cerkno ND's goalkeeper Salih Naprudnik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute, Srečo Porčić got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Srečo Porčić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucijan Kovačević having to interfere. Celestin Purgar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Salih Naprudnik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

In the 53rd minute Rikardo Turk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Salih Naprudnik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Celestin Purgar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Salih Naprudnik read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. The supporters of Rogatec booed when Cerkno ND was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Slavko Šalamija didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucijan Kovačević made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Srečo Porčić in the 75th minute of play. Celestin Purgar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Srečo Porčić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucijan Kovačević having to interfere. Rogatec's Rikardo Turk got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Rikardo Turk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
