The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Aleks Buh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ilir Rauter, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. 5 minutes into the game, Ilir Rauter cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Aleks Buh was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Aldo Radivojević stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ferdo Dušič's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. Dagmar Grom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A hard shot 23 in the game by Avguštin Koren from a close distance when the talented Aldo Radivojević managed to make a qualified save. Veržej's players were relieved. If Ferdo Dušič had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Avguštin Koren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aldo Radivojević having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Ferdo Dušič ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aldo Radivojević was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in Žužemberk's zone, Dagmar Grom stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aleks Buh came out of the goal and Dagmar Grom tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ferdo Dušič could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Aldo Radivojević made a huge save. With a little luck, Veržej's Aldo Radivojević got control of the ball when Avguštin Koren tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ferdo Dušič received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Aldo Radivojević came out and tried to block the shot, but Ferdo Dušič slotted it home off the left post making it 2-4 in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-4 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ferdo Dušič made a kick off. Aldo Radivojević showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferdo Dušič in the 56th minute of the match. Ilir Rauter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aleks Buh having to interfere. In the 61st minute, Dagmar Grom got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 62nd match minute, Žužemberk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blaž Mikluž to maneuver through the defense. Aldo Radivojević came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Žužemberk's Ferdo Dušič. But to his dismay, Ferdo Dušič quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-4. If Guglielmo Niculović had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aldo Radivojević stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Avguštin Koren's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Veržej's Aldo Radivojević played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Avguštin Koren in the 77th minute of play. After having played for 78 minutes, Avguštin Koren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Žužemberk's supporters crossed their fingers, but Avguštin Koren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ferdo Dušič took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aldo Radivojević. Aldo Radivojević dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-4. Aleks Buh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ilir Rauter in the 84th minute of the match. Blaž Mikluž got his second yellow card in the match during the 88th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Blaž Mikluž kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Dagmar Grom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dagmar Grom might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aleks Buh. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dagmar Grom ran back to his position shaking his head. If Avguštin Koren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
