If Istok ZaponÅ¡ek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rafael Kolar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Ljuban FaÅ¡alek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13th minute, Rafael Kolar made a precise shot to the right of Ljuban FaÅ¡alek. Rakek's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Adin Penca hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Rakek's Zvonimir Gorenc got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 19th minute, Istok ZaponÅ¡ek got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mentor Bolkovič made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Zvonimir Gorenc sent off a good shot on target. In the 25thth minute of the game Istok ZaponÅ¡ek who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Šempeter NK's Mentor Bolkovič was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Rakek's zone, Svobodan Krašovic stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ljuban FaÅ¡alek came out of the goal and Svobodan Krašovic tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Šempeter NK getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Zladko Prestor hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Šempeter NK's zone, Zvonimir Gorenc stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mentor Bolkovič came out of the goal and Zvonimir Gorenc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rafael Kolar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rikardo VranjeÅ¡ charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rikardo VranjeÅ¡ the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Rakek's Rikardo VranjeÅ¡ got a free kick in the 41st minute. Zvonimir Gorenc blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mentor Bolkovič having to make a save. In the 46thth minute of the game Istok ZaponÅ¡ek who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Šempeter NK's Mentor Bolkovič was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Istok ZaponÅ¡ek made a kick off. Ljuban FaÅ¡alek made an important save on a dangerous shot by Svobodan Krašovic in the 60th minute. If Zvonimir Gorenc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Rakek booed when Šempeter NK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zladko Prestor didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julij Bajželj in the 75th minute of play forced Šempeter NK's goalkeeper Mentor Bolkovič to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rakek's Ljuban FaÅ¡alek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Kolar in the 79th minute of play. Mentor Bolkovič came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Rakek's Istok ZaponÅ¡ek. But to his dismay, Istok ZaponÅ¡ek quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Svobodan Krašovic's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ljuban FaÅ¡alek read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. Ljuban FaÅ¡alek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Kolar in the 98th minute of play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
