The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th match minute, Dol pri Ljubljani NK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nace Pepel to maneuver through the defense. After taking down the ball on Čatež NK's corner Gianni Krivokapič fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Vladko Hedl quite easily take care of the ball. In the 22nd minute, Viljam Šuštaršič got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 27th minute, Remo Žukovec hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dol pri Ljubljani NK's Oto Hlebec couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 28th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Čatež NK. Džan Šmit fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladko Hedl having to interfere. Dol pri Ljubljani NK's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Viljam Šuštaršič 35 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Džan Šmit fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladko Hedl having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Džan Šmit got free with Vladko Hedl in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jaroslav Honzak's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Baldomir Kebe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. Remo Žukovec charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Remo Žukovec the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 44th minute, Remo Žukovec hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Baldomir Kebe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaroslav Honzak, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tom Pavlovič was the one to do the kick off. Viljam Šuštaršič blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vladko Hedl having to make a save. Viljam Šuštaršič received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Vladko Hedl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jaroslav Honzak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Baldomir Kebe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Baldomir Kebe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tom Pavlovič, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. The supporters of Dol pri Ljubljani NK booed when Čatež NK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erol Kozjek didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Erol Kozjek fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Čatež NK's protests and gave Erol Kozjek a yellow card for diving instead. Tom Pavlovič fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baldomir Kebe having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Čatež NK's zone, Jaroslav Honzak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baldomir Kebe came out of the goal and Jaroslav Honzak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Džan Šmit sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tom Pavlovič sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
