In the 3rd minute, Adam Čelan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Velja Bregar kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Tibor Gašpar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. George Rek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marino Berdavs in the 34th minute of play. A collision led to Kungota getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Roman Žuraj hit a great ball. Šentilj's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Antiša Centa 42 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. With a little luck, Šentilj's Doris Žonta got control of the ball when Ecij Zupan tried to sneak it across the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tibor Gašpar to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Marino Berdavs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Rek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marino Berdavs was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 76th minute. Šentilj's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 78 minutes into the match, Šentilj's Velja Bregar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that George Rek narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Marino Berdavs might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over George Rek. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marino Berdavs ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 85th minute, Adam Čelan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ecij Zupan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Doris Žonta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tibor Gašpar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Doris Žonta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. If Adam Čelan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Šentilj players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
