Davorin Kruljac fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rašid Sluga having to interfere. The supporters of Boston University booed when Šalovci was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Odon Nemec didn't get a good kick on the ball. Davorin Kruljac sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gal Leban kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. When Samir Pregl fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Šalovci's protests and gave Samir Pregl a yellow card for diving instead. In the 22nd match minute, Šalovci was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samir Pregl to maneuver through the defense. 30 minutes into the match, Boston University's goal looked a bit too open when Dimitrij Govednik came free, but Marjan Čebulj reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Šefik Mikuž ran back to his position shaking his head. Vojo Derča scored 1-0 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rašid Sluga, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 70 minutes into the match, Davorin Kruljac notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Šalovci's Rašid Sluga. Rašid Sluga was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Šefik Mikužs short, quick shot in the 76thth minute got Marjan Čebulj to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Vojo Derča received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Rašid Sluga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, Davorin Kruljac left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Boston University fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. After a defensive mix-up in Šalovci's zone, Vojo Derča stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rašid Sluga came out of the goal and Vojo Derča tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Vojo Derča had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
