The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gunnar Jelm could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Per-Arne Mårtensson made a huge save. With a little luck, Lavsjön IFK's Per-Arne Mårtensson got control of the ball when Gunnar Jelm tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hieronim Gongolewicz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jack Håkansson having to interfere. In the 12th minute, Inge Hökkvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Sandöverken getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Axel Nordkvist hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harry Engström in the 19th minute of play forced Sandöverken's goalkeeper Jack Håkansson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jack Håkansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hieronim Gongolewicz in the 20th minute of play. Jack Håkansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hieronim Gongolewicz in the 45th minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, Lavsjön IFK's Hieronim Gongolewicz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jack Håkansson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After the first half Lavsjön IFK were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hannes Olenberg to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Sjöman in the 51st minute of play forced Lavsjön IFK's goalkeeper Per-Arne Mårtensson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lavsjön IFK's Hieronim Gongolewicz got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Per-Arne Mårtensson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gunnar Jelm in the 61st minute of the match. The supporters of Sandöverken booed when Lavsjön IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joakim Eckegren didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd match minute, Lavsjön IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leif Torsberg to maneuver through the defense. In the 64th minute of the match Sakarias Engström sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Per-Arne Mårtensson skillfully saved the ball. 70 minutes into the game, Lavsjön IFK's Hieronim Gongolewicz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jack Håkansson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 76th match minute, Sandöverken was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simon Biörk to maneuver through the defense. Lavsjön IFK's Linus Rolfsson got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Per-Arne Mårtensson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simon Biörk, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Lavsjön IFK's Per-Arne Mårtensson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gunnar Jelm in the 83rd minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Gunnar Jelm had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Per-Arne Mårtensson. Lavsjön IFK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gunnar Jelm was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2.
