The referee showed Florentino Mincho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 3 played minutes Jönköping Södra IF got a freekick which was hit by Florentino Mincho. Johnnie Guthrie kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johnnie Guthrie in the 7th minute of play forced Syrianska fc's goalkeeper Carl Runberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kjell Åkesson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carl Runberg having to interfere. Ernst Stensson kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Carl Runberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kjell Åkesson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Jönköping Södra IF's Johnnie Guthrie in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Syrianska fc's goalie prevented a goal. 17 minutes in the game, Bernt Bivall fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Tommy Malmberg having to interfere. After some careless play in the Syrianska fc defense, Johnnie Guthrie kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carl Runberg. The Syrianska fc fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carl Runberg should have stopped the shot. Johnnie Guthrie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carl Runberg having to interfere. When Jönköping Södra IF's Kjell Åkesson in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Syrianska fc's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Syrianska fc getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Sverker Törnblom hit a great ball. Johnnie Guthrie kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Kjell Åkesson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carl Runberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. 45 minutes into the game, Jönköping Södra IF's Johnnie Guthrie nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carl Runberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bernt Bivall was the one to do the kick off. Johnnie Guthrie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Johnnie Guthrie blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carl Runberg having to make a save. In the 62nd minute of the match, Johnnie Guthrie tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Carl Runberg saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Carl Runberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kjell Åkesson went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the Syrianska fc defense, Kjell Åkesson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carl Runberg. The Syrianska fc fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carl Runberg should have stopped the shot. Syrianska fc's Carl Runberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Syrianska fc from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Syrianska fc's Sverker Törnblom got a free kick in the 76th minute. The supporters of Jönköping Södra IF booed when Syrianska fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sverker Törnblom didn't get a good kick on the ball. Johnnie Guthrie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 87 minutes into the match, Jönköping Södra IF's goal looked a bit too open when Júlio De Battista came free, but Tommy Malmberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Syrianska fc's Carl Runberg got control of the ball when Kjell Åkesson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Douglas Nyman hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. 95 minutes into the match, Syrianska fc's goal looked a bit too open when Johnnie Guthrie came free, but Carl Runberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Jönköping Södra IF left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Syrianska fc.
