If Edward Lövskog had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robin Brolin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Liverpool FC's Edward Lövskog in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 22nd minute, Claes Johnsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Per-Åke Broberg during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. French United's Adam Johansson got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 34 played minutes, French United's Kurt Lööf shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ture Sjöberg came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in French United reached it. 36 minutes into the match, Liverpool FC's goalkeeper Ture Sjöberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adam Johansson. Ture Sjöberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adam Johansson, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After having played for 41 minutes, Arne Hellsing managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. French United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arne Hellsing was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adam Johansson in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ture Sjöberg saved Liverpool FC from getting behind. 47 minutes into the match, French United's goal looked a bit too open when Robin Brolin came free, but Oskar Svanström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Oskar Svanström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robin Brolin, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Robin Brolin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Oskar Svanström. That made the score 0-2 in the 63 minute of play. 71 minutes into the game, Claes Johnsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. French United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Liverpool FC the free kick. Claes Johnsson hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Robin Brolin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Liverpool FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Robin Brolin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oskar Svanström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
