Kristianstad FF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Svante Bållström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 11 minutes into the match, Stenungsund FK's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Sundling came free, but Ian Lundin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eduardo Ramalho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Brian Engström came out and tried to block the shot, but Eduardo Ramalho slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 18th minute. Horia Barbu kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. A collision led to Stenungsund FK getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Jakob Häll hit a great ball. 31 minutes into the match, Stenungsund FK's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Sundling came free, but Ian Lundin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ian Lundin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bengt-Åke Gregersson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduardo Ramalho in the 56th minute of play forced Kristianstad FF's goalkeeper Brian Engström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 59 minutes into the game, Mats Lindman threw the ball into play from the sideline. Kristianstad FF's Egil Ekelund quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Ian Lundin made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Fred Sundling sent off a good shot on target. Eduardo Ramalho struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Brian Engström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stenungsund FK. Ian Lundin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stenungsund FK's Oskar Hedlund got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 79th minute, Arvid Svensson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With his leg Ian Lundin managed to avoid a goal in the 82ndth minute, when Kristianstad FF's Fred Sundling fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 85th minute, Fred Sundling left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kristianstad FF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 91st match minute, Stenungsund FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charlie Jonsson to maneuver through the defense. Fred Sundling received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Ian Lundin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Kristianstad FF players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
