The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of GALATASARAY booed when Dynamo Doktorn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Douglas Lindmark didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stig-Åke Törnqvist in the 4th minute of play forced Dynamo Doktorn's goalkeeper Fred Söderman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Örjan Göransson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 8 played minutes, Dynamo Doktorn's Sven-Edvin Kjellqvist shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Örjan Göransson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Dynamo Doktorn reached it. Nils-Åke Söderberg hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Fred Söderman came out of the goal and Stig-Åke Törnqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Octavio Lain stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. GALATASARAY's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Nilsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fred Söderman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Stig-Åke Törnqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. In the 76th minute of the match Sven-Edvin Kjellqvist sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Örjan Göransson skillfully saved the ball. Fred Söderman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Octavio Lain took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fred Söderman. Fred Söderman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Octavio Lain received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Fred Söderman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
