Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Kjell Lundblad made the kick off and thus started the match. After a defensive mix-up in Liverpool F.C's zone, Kjell Lundblad stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tom Strand came out of the goal and Kjell Lundblad tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Kjell Lundblad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tom Strand took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marko Malmgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 10 minutes of play, Malmö FF's Thomas Vennersten made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tom Strand was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Liverpool F.C booed when Malmö FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thomas Vennersten didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kjell Lundblad recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Liverpool F.C's Tom Strand played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marko Malmgren in the 27th minute of play. Tom Strand showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jörgen Löfskog in the 28th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Marko Malmgren ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tom Strand was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Kjell Lundblad struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Tom Strand didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Malmö FF. Tom Strand showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomas Vennersten, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Liverpool F.C's Tom Strand played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kjell Lundblad in the 39th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marko Malmgren in the 43rd minute of play forced Liverpool F.C's goalkeeper Tom Strand to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kjell Lundblad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Tom Strand tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ralf Klack made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Svante Björk sent off a good shot on target. In the 47th match minute, Malmö FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jörgen Löfskog to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Svante Björk to strike the kick off in the second half. Marko Malmgren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tom Strand having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Malmö FF's zone, Christer Mager stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ralf Klack came out of the goal and Christer Mager tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Malmö FF getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Jörgen Löfskog hit a great ball. In the 68th minute, Kjell Lundblad reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tom Strand. The goal made the score 0-4. In the 74th minute, Malmö FF's Marko Malmgren ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tom Strand. Tom Strand yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. When Marko Malmgren came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Malmö FF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marko Malmgren couldn't finish the play. Tom Strand stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marko Malmgren's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Mattias Åström kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. In the 86th minute of the match Valter Ekeroth shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ralf Klack showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Tom Strand showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomas Vennersten, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 95 minutes, Tom Strand successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.
