The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The IFK Vaxholm fans' excitement grew in the 10th match minute when IFK Vaxholm's Ur Stark looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Manfred Giöck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ur Stark in the 24th minute of play. If Ur Stark had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ur Stark received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Manfred Giöck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Urban Lindberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Ur Stark's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Manfred Giöck was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Svante Lövgren stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ur Stark got free with Manfred Giöck in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Manfred Giöck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ur Stark in the 56th minute of play. Ur Starks short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Manfred Giöck to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Tom Drake showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Svante Lövgren in the 64th minute of the match. IFK Vaxholm's Ur Stark was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 65th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 71st minute, Svante Lövgren ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tom Drake was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. The supporters of IFK Vaxholm booed when GIF Nike was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Kvalfält didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as IFK Vaxholm's Ur Stark slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Manfred Giöck. That made the score 1-4 after 84 minutes of play. Ur Stark in the 92ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Manfred Giöck, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With his leg Manfred Giöck managed to avoid a goal in the 93rdth minute, when IFK Vaxholm's Ur Stark fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 96th minute, Romeo Busuioceanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The GIF Nike fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. IFK Vaxholm were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
