Carl Berglund lost his temper 10 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Benknäckarna fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 10th minute. Penalty! Ferdinando Schirone's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jan Kjellqvist firmly grabbed it by the left post. When Ferdinando Schirone came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Davids FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ferdinando Schirone couldn't finish the play. In the 19th minute, Georg Bergsten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 21 minutes into the game, Ferdinando Schirone cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Jan Kjellqvist was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charles Ekberg in the 25th minute of play forced Davids FC's goalkeeper Jesper Mellberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benknäckarna's Jan Kjellqvist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Benknäckarna from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Davids FC booed when Benknäckarna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Malcolm Ahlrot didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jan Kjellqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fred Söderqvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Tracey Acero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fred Söderqvist blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jan Kjellqvist having to make a save. Ferdinando Schirone blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jan Kjellqvist having to make a save. Benknäckarna's Svante Helström got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ferdinando Schirone made a kick off. In the 51st minute Fred Söderqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Kjellqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 53 minutes, Svante Helström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Benknäckarna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Svante Helström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 62nd minute, Tracey Acero left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Davids FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. In the 66th minute, Malcolm Ahlrot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Davids FC's Georg Bergsten got a free kick in the 71st minute. After 74 played minutes Benknäckarna got a freekick which was hit by Hans Sander. Charles Ekberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jesper Mellberg having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, Ferdinando Schirone notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of Benknäckarna's Jan Kjellqvist. Jan Kjellqvist was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 94 minutes into the match, Svante Helström had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jesper Mellberg. Davids FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Svante Helström was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-2. Many of Benknäckarna's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Benknäckarna may have spent more time on the ball, but Davids FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
