Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tobias Anundsson started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Lions FC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Kurt Lindholm hit a great ball. Jonas Ödmann's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gilbert Thorsberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. If Tobias Anundsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 20 minutes, Sven-Edvin Enegren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Skillingaryd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sven-Edvin Enegren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 21st minute, Kåre Olsman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Lions FC's Erik Pilberg in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Sixten Lundgren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan-Olof Lundin in the 27th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the game, Tobias Anundsson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gilbert Thorsberg. Tobias Anundsson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Tobias Anundsson in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gilbert Thorsberg, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tobias Anundsson in the 41st minute of play forced Lions FC's goalkeeper Gilbert Thorsberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Sven-Edvin Enegren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lions FC's Gilbert Thorsberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Lions FC from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Skillingaryd booed when Lions FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erik Pilberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Tobias Anundsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Erik Pilberg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th match minute, Lions FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charlie Jakobsson to maneuver through the defense. After 57 played minutes Lions FC got a freekick which was hit by Reine Wallander. Jonas Ödmann took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 58th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gilbert Thorsberg. Lions FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 59 minutes into the match, Erik Pilberg dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sixten Lundgren, 3-1. Erik Pilberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sixten Lundgren having to interfere. The supporters of Skillingaryd booed when Lions FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thomas Fredriksson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 69th minute, Sven-Edvin Enegren left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Skillingaryd fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. Bengt Haraldsson struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Gilbert Thorsberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Skillingaryd. In the 78th minute, Karl-Ove Biörling left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Skillingaryd fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. 86 minutes into the game, Sven-Edvin Enegren cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-1. Gilbert Thorsberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Skillingaryd's Sven-Edvin Enegren got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 96 minutes into the match, Bengt Haraldsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gilbert Thorsberg. Lions FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bengt Haraldsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-1. Skillingaryd walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
