Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Bertil Olofsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vilhelm Eckegren in the 5th minute. With a little luck, Norsholm IFK's Bertil Olofsson got control of the ball when Vilhelm Eckegren tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 12th minute Brian Melin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bo Nordkvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jörn Bäcklin in the 14th minute of play forced Norsholm IFK's goalkeeper Bertil Olofsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The long shot by Tom Botvidsson in the 16th minute really tested Bertil Olofsson's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Brian Melin might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bo Nordkvist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Brian Melin ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 19th minute Robin Lindman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bo Nordkvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gunnar Åkesson scored 0-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bo Nordkvist, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Gunnar Åkesson came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Norsholm IFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gunnar Åkesson couldn't finish the play. The supporters of FC Santa Claus booed when Norsholm IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brian Melin didn't get a good kick on the ball. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jörn Bäcklin to make the kick off. Robin Lindman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Bo Nordkvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 54 played minutes Norsholm IFK got a freekick which was hit by Tommy Glad. In the 56th minute, Morgan Holmberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Gunnar Åkesson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Gunnar Åkesson fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Norsholm IFK's protests and gave Gunnar Åkesson a yellow card for diving instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gunnar Åkesson got free with Bo Nordkvist in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 67th minute, Robin Lindman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Brian Melin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Gunnar Åkesson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bo Nordkvist was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to FC Santa Claus getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Olof Biörk hit a great ball. Anton Bruse kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Gunnar Åkesson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Bo Nordkvist made a huge save. 87 minutes into the match, FC Santa Claus's goal looked a bit too open when Robin Lindman came free, but Bo Nordkvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brian Melin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bo Nordkvist having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Norsholm IFK's Brian Melin got a free kick in the 92nd minute. After having played for 95 minutes, Brian Melin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Norsholm IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brian Melin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The FC Santa Claus fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Norsholm IFK were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
