After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Åke Sandström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rusksele BK's supporters rose to their feet, but Åke Sandström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernt Lööf breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Götene IF getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Folke Bäck hit a great ball. Åke Sandström struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Bernt Lööf didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rusksele BK. After some careless play in the Rusksele BK defense, Folke Bäck kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Klas Lindström. The Rusksele BK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Klas Lindström should have stopped the shot. Folke Bäck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 17 played minutes Rusksele BK got a freekick which was hit by Henning Vennerberg. In the 21st minute, Fredric Finman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gösta Björkdahl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Klas Lindström having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, Rusksele BK's goal looked a bit too open when Bengt Ekström came free, but Klas Lindström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Rusksele BK getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Martin Lindström hit a great ball. Klas Lindström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Folke Bäck in the 29th minute of the match. Åke Sandström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fredrik Boström was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 32nd minute. Rusksele BK's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Klas Lindström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rune Svensson in the 35th minute of the match. Åke Sandström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Götene IF's Gösta Björkdahl got a free kick in the 40th minute. 42 minutes into the match, Rusksele BK's goal looked a bit too open when Bengt Ekström came free, but Klas Lindström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Michael Melin during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Michael Melin kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Åke Sandström to strike the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Bengt Ekström notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Rusksele BK's Klas Lindström. Klas Lindström was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 59 minutes into the match, Rusksele BK's goalkeeper Klas Lindström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bengt Ekström. Klas Lindström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Folke Bäck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bengt Ekström blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Klas Lindström having to make a save. In the 77th minute, Götene IF's Bengt Ekström ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Klas Lindström. Klas Lindström yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Klas Lindström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gösta Björkdahl in the 80th minute of play. Folke Bäck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Klas Lindström having to interfere. 83 minutes into the match, Rusksele BK's goalkeeper Klas Lindström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jonny Josefsson. Bengt Ekström scored 0-4 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Klas Lindström, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bengt Ekström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Rune Svensson came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Götene IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rune Svensson couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rune Svensson in the 94th minute of play forced Rusksele BK's goalkeeper Klas Lindström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute of the match, Bengt Ekström got a very nice opportunity to score, but Klas Lindström was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.
