Kjell Stålberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Christer Apelqvist made a huge save. Kjell Stålberg had several of the Uusikaupunki Apinat's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 16 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Christer Apelqvist as he didn't even see the shot coming. When Calle Gustafsson came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Uusikaupunki Apinat fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Calle Gustafsson couldn't finish the play. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Uusikaupunki Apinat's goalkeeper Christer Apelqvist, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The nice shot from Kjell Stålberg in the 27thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Christer Apelqvist had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Kjell Stålberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benjamin Dahlman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Calle Gustafsson went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kjell Stålberg to strike the kick off in the second half. Christer Apelqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kjell Stålberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Eric Sjöman put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Benjamin Dahlman. 60 minutes into the game, Kjell Stålberg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Christer Apelqvist was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 63 minutes, Kjell Stålberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stånga IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kjell Stålberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Calle Gustafsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Stig-Åke Ekenberg kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Benjamin Dahlman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eric Sjöman in the 71st minute. In the 73rd minute Kjell Stålberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christer Apelqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 74thth minute of the game Kjell Stålberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uusikaupunki Apinat's Christer Apelqvist was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Egon Barck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Christer Apelqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Uusikaupunki Apinat getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Vincent Enegren hit a great ball. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
