In the 11th minute, Hjalmar Ferm got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 14thth minute of the game Nils Ahlroth who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Åhus's Dick Örtlund was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A hard shot by Manfred Fredriksson from long distance, 16 minutes into the match, got Dick Örtlund's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Nils Ahlroth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nils Ahlroth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Dick Örtlund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dick Örtlund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nils Ahlroth in the 25th minute of the match. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nils Ahlroth stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes, Egil Överman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Åhus and the Desert Flames players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Åhus getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Egil Överman hit a great ball. In the 53rd minute of the match Dennis Eliasson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dick Örtlund skillfully saved the ball. Gunnar Salqvist blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dick Örtlund having to make a save. If Nils Ahlroth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 62 minutes into the game, Henry Holm was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Åhus's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Desert Flames the free kick. The supporters of Desert Flames booed when Åhus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Holm didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Nils Ahlroth came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Desert Flames fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nils Ahlroth couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valter Tinglöv in the 66th minute of play forced Desert Flames's goalkeeper Tommy Nyberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Åhus's zone, Nils Ahlroth stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dick Örtlund came out of the goal and Nils Ahlroth tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Marcus Kruse fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Åhus's protests and gave Marcus Kruse a yellow card for diving instead. In the 69th minute, Marcus Kruse hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Valter Tinglöv received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Tommy Nyberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tobias Falk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tommy Nyberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valter Tinglöv in the 78th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Nils Ahlroth's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dick Örtlund was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. After having played for 81 minutes, Hjalmar Ferm managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Åhus's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nils Ahlroth was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. When Desert Flames's Nils Ahlroth in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Åhus's goalie prevented a goal. Hjalmar Ferm fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dick Örtlund having to interfere. Dick Örtlund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nils Ahlroth, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. In the 95th minute Nils Ahlroth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dick Örtlund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Desert Flames were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
