The audience was convinced that Robin Hake's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Charlie Almkvist was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Victor Utfal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ted Alstedt in the 26th minute of play. Victor Utfal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ted Alstedt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 46 minutes into the match, DCFC's goal looked a bit too open when Sven-Ove Vedholm came free, but Victor Utfal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 48th match minute, Edsbyn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ted Alstedt to maneuver through the defense.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Robin Hake made a kick off. Ted Alstedt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kenny Wall might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Victor Utfal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kenny Wall ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 93 minutes, Ted Alstedt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Edsbyn's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ted Alstedt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in DCFC's zone, Sven-Ove Vedholm stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victor Utfal came out of the goal and Sven-Ove Vedholm tried to chip the ball over his head.
