Åsunden's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erik Carlsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Åsunden getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Vilgot Backman hit a great ball. After 15 played minutes, Åsunden's Elliot Benett shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ivar Månsson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Åsunden reached it. A collision led to Åsunden getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Sven-Erik Mellbad hit a great ball. The supporters of Åsunden booed when Rabbalshede IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pelle Torsberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fredric Lund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joachim Hedvall, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Yngve Hellkvist struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Ivar Månsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Åsunden. Ivar Månsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

55 minutes into the match, Rabbalshede IF's goal looked a bit too open when Vilgot Backman came free, but Ivar Månsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vilgot Backman in the 62nd minute of play forced Rabbalshede IF's goalkeeper Ivar Månsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joachim Hedvall could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Fredric Lund made a huge save. If Vilgot Backman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rabbalshede IF's Ivar Månsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vilgot Backman in the 96th minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Åsunden players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
