The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Adrian Bocklund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Olof Kjellbom scored 1-0 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vincent Holm, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 18th match minute, FK Crvena Zvezda was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jens-Erik Åberg to maneuver through the defense. Vincent Holm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bengt Nordin in the 19th minute of play. Bengt Nordin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Olof Kjellboms short, quick shot in the 23rdth minute got Vincent Holm to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After having played for 25 minutes, Olof Kjellbom managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kåge IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olof Kjellbom was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vincent Holm was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Bengt Nordin showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 26 minute of play. In the 28th minute, Leif Haström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vincent Holm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bengt Nordin, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Vincent Holm made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Olof Kjellbom sent off a good shot on target. Nils-Emil Boström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Bengt Nordin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bengt Nordin in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vincent Holm saved FK Crvena Zvezda from getting behind. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The referee felt a red card was in order, 55 minutes into the game, when Stasio Scigan put in a rough tackle. 54 minutes into the game, one of FK Crvena Zvezda:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. FK Crvena Zvezda:s Vincent Holm showed great skill when he stopped Nils-Emil Jakobsson:s penalty. Bengt Nordin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Kåge IFK booed when FK Crvena Zvezda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orvar Lundin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 65th minute, Nils-Emil Jakobsson sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and FK Crvena Zvezda's Vincent Holm didn't even have to move. Vincent Holm stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bengt Nordin's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. When Olof Kjellbom came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Kåge IFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olof Kjellbom couldn't finish the play. Kåge IFK's attack was well implemented in the 72nd minute, but when Olof Kjellbom was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Kåge IFK's Olof Kjellbom got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vincent Holm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olof Kjellbom, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. After 79 played minutes FK Crvena Zvezda got a freekick which was hit by Bengt-Åke Myr. The supporters of FK Crvena Zvezda booed when Kåge IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bo Bålström didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Björn Allbom during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Björn Allbom hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. In the 96thth minute of the game Bengt Nordin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FK Crvena Zvezda's Vincent Holm was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ingemar Igelström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henning Broberg having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Kåge IFK fans cheered their team off the field, for while FK Crvena Zvezda had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
