The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Björn Ahlroht made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Torsten Hultman in the 3rd minute of play. Torsten Hultman was extremely unlucky when he, in the 5th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 6 minutes into the match, Vedum IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Sten Valström came free, but Björn Ahlroht reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alvar Kilström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Torbjörn Bergfeldt in the 10th minute of play. 11 minutes had been played when some careless play by Björkö IF's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Börje Nyberg was slow to take the kick. During this time Vedum IFK's players had a chance to rest. The referee felt a red card was in order, 18 minutes into the game, when Erik Berggren put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 17th minute of the game. One of Vedum IFK:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Björkö IF:s goal. Stig-Arne Hybbert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th minute Ragnar Hafström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvar Kilström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 31 played minutes Vedum IFK got a freekick which was hit by Elliot Johnsson. In the 40th minute Stig-Arne Hybbert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvar Kilström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Björn Ahlroht showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sten Valström in the 56th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, Ragnar Hafström dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alvar Kilström, 1-2. When Marko Broman fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Björkö IF's protests and gave Marko Broman a yellow card for diving instead. Marko Broman kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. If Stig-Arne Hybbert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 74 minutes into the game, Vedum IFK's Stig-Arne Hybbert nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alvar Kilström made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sten Valström in the 82nd minute of play forced Vedum IFK's goalkeeper Björn Ahlroht to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Björn Ahlroht took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torsten Hultman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85thth minute of the game Torsten Hultman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vedum IFK's Björn Ahlroht was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vedum IFK's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
