Vilgot Sjöman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven-Åke Blom having to interfere. Charlie Fransson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Sven-Åke Blom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Erik Bengtsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven-Åke Blom having to interfere. If Charlie Fransson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 21 played minutes Hammarby IF got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Sigman. Charlie Fransson struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Sven-Åke Blom didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Övertorneå FK. Gustav Falkrans made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Folke Ek sent off a good shot on target. Ulrik Stephansson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Gustav Falkrans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustav Falkrans didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Folke Ek went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. If Charlie Fransson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 39 played minutes Övertorneå FK got a freekick which was hit by Simon Lindqvist. If Ulrik Stephansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Folke Ek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustav Falkrans having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Erik Bengtsson was the one to do the kick off. Gustav Falkrans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Folke Ek in the 53rd minute of play. After 54 played minutes Övertorneå FK got a freekick which was hit by Vilgot Sjöman. Ulrik Stephansson took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gustav Falkrans. Gustav Falkrans dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Folke Ek might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gustav Falkrans. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Folke Ek ran back to his position shaking his head. After 67 played minutes Övertorneå FK got a freekick which was hit by Rickard Engström. Folke Ek recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Folke Ek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Gustav Falkrans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ulrik Stephansson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hammarby IF's Folke Ek got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Erik Bengtsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Sven-Åke Blom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sven-Åke Blom stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Erik Bengtsson's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. In the 90th minute, Vilgot Sjöman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bo-Erik Falck kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Övertorneå FK's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
