Joakim Stabbe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars-Erik Julin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Joakim Stabbe stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lars-Erik Julin's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Niklas Ingvall during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 70th match minute, IFK Rökland Saints was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niklas Ingvall to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 89 minutes, Hubert Björnberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. IFK Rökland Saints's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hubert Björnberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 90 played minutes FC Elfsborg got a freekick which was hit by Sverker Pil.
