In the 13th minute, Johnny Hultman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Gnesta IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gunnar Blomqvist should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Kinell in the 32nd minute of play forced Gnesta IF's goalkeeper Gunnar Blomqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Gnesta IF's goal looked a bit too open when John Kinell came free, but Gunnar Blomqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
