Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Matthias Norberg started the match with the kick off. Evert Ståhlman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evert Ståhlman in the 10th minute of play forced Markaryd's goalkeeper Folke Dalberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Markaryd's Folke Dalberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evert Ståhlman in the 11th minute of play. Malmö ff's Isaac Samuelsson suffered a sore thigh after 12 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 12 minutes into the game, Henning Qvarnström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Markaryd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Malmö ff the free kick. If Henning Qvarnström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th match minute, Malmö ff was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herman Hägglund to maneuver through the defense. John Holmberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Folke Dalberg having to interfere. Sven Fågel's late challenge caught a Malmö ff's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sven Fågel helped the player get up and apologised. In the 25th minute, Sven Fågel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Folke Dalberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John Holmberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. When Malmö ff's Evert Ståhlman in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Markaryd's goalie prevented a goal. After 40 minutes of play, Malmö ff's Evert Ståhlman made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Folke Dalberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 43rd minute, Evert Ståhlman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Niklas Axelsson took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Herman Hellqvist. Herman Hellqvist dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Niklas Axelsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Herman Hellqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niklas Axelsson in the 54th minute of play. Herman Hellqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Göran Björkman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ola Brovall struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Folke Dalberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Malmö ff. Matthias Norberg took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Folke Dalberg. Folke Dalberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The Malmö ff fans' excitement grew in the 68th match minute when Malmö ff's Evert Ståhlman looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Evert Ståhlman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Malmö ff's supporters rose to their feet, but Evert Ståhlman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Folke Dalberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 80th minute, Ola Brovall got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Markaryd's Folke Dalberg got control of the ball when Matthias Norberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Malmö ff eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
