An unexpectedly hard shot by Mattias Brogren in the 4th minute of play forced Hällestad BK's goalkeeper Dan Boström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rune Wallengren got free with Erik Kling in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 9th minute Jens-Ove Thidén shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erik Kling saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th minute of the game Frans Bergman made a throw-in which Michel Näfver played forward. 17 minutes into the match, Jens-Ove Thidén had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Erik Kling. Ervalla FF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jens-Ove Thidén was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Jens-Ove Thidén's late challenge caught a Ervalla FF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jens-Ove Thidén helped the player get up and apologised. Dan Boström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mattias Brogren, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. If Mattias Brogren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Hällestad BK's Henrik Andreasson got a free kick in the 35th minute. Mattias Brogren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Dick Asserlind had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 39 minutes into the game, Henrik Andreasson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hällestad BK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ervalla FF the free kick. In the 39th minute, Henrik Andreasson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Michel Näfver's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Erik Kling was relentless in the 48th minute of the game. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mattias Brogren to make the kick off. Ervalla FF's Erik Kling played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rune Wallengren in the 57th minute of play. Erik Kling took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michel Näfver, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dick Fastesson in the 61st minute of play forced Ervalla FF's goalkeeper Erik Kling to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Ervalla FF defense, Rune Wallengren kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Erik Kling. The Ervalla FF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Erik Kling should have stopped the shot. 82 minutes into the match, Ervalla FF's goal looked a bit too open when Jens-Ove Thidén came free, but Erik Kling reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Erik Kling took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dick Fastesson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michel Näfver in the 89th minute of play forced Ervalla FF's goalkeeper Erik Kling to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Ervalla FF getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Christian Jonasson hit a great ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Hällestad BK had played much better football throughout.
