After a rather tough play, Hällestad BK's Tony Norström got a free kick in the 2nd minute. The supporters of Ups-Men United booed when Hällestad BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dick Fastesson didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rune Wallengren got free with Patrick Fransson in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Michel Näfver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Patrick Fransson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Michel Näfver managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hällestad BK's supporters rose to their feet, but Michel Näfver was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Patrick Fransson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rune Wallengren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick Fransson having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michel Näfver in the 33rd minute of play forced Ups-Men United's goalkeeper Patrick Fransson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Evald Veider had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
