The crowd rose to their feet as Chelsea FC's Henry Söderberg slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jan-Olof Strömqvist. That made the score 1-0 after 21 minutes of play. In the 25th minute, Chelsea FC's Henry Söderberg dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. After a rather tough play, Newton Heath LYR's Stig-Ove Granqvist got a free kick in the 30th minute. Jan-Olof Strömqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henry Söderberg in the 31st minute of play. Henry Söderberg hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Newton Heath LYR's Jan-Olof Strömqvist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Newton Heath LYR from getting a goal against them. Allan Zonta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stig-Ove Granqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bengt Bocklund during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jan-Olof Strömqvist was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Joakim Bennet. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Oliver Axelsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jan-Olof Strömqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henry Söderberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jan-Olof Strömqvist came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Chelsea FC's Henry Söderberg. But to his dismay, Henry Söderberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Ragnar Isaksson made in the 58th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Chelsea FC's Nicklas Löfkvist. Jan-Olof Strömqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raul Guilizasti in the 62nd minute of play. If Ulrik Gerdberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Chelsea FC's Joakim Bennet got a free kick in the 67th minute. Raul Guilizasti kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. The corner ended in Joakim Bennet almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Newton Heath LYR's Jan-Olof Strömqvist did a great save. When Henry Söderberg fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chelsea FC's protests and gave Henry Söderberg a yellow card for diving instead. Henry Söderberg kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. After 83 played minutes Chelsea FC got a freekick which was hit by Raul Guilizasti. In the 85th match minute, Newton Heath LYR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oliver Axelsson to maneuver through the defense. Jan-Olof Strömqvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joakim Bennet in the 94th minute of the match.
