Nils-Erik Löfgren's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 5thth minute, Jim Björkkvist skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The nice shot from Nils-Erik Löfgren in the 6thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Jim Björkkvist had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Nils-Erik Löfgren scored 1-0 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jim Björkkvist, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 11 minutes, Hans Collin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gästrike-hammarby's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hans Collin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hans Collin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jim Björkkvist having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Per Vibjörnsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gästrike-hammarby's supporters rose to their feet, but Per Vibjörnsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jim Björkkvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nils-Erik Löfgren could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Jim Björkkvist made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Nils-Erik Löfgren managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gästrike-hammarby's supporters rose to their feet, but Nils-Erik Löfgren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jim Björkkvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jim Björkkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evert Hernström in the 22nd minute of play. 22 minutes into the game, Ingemar Rudkvist was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tommy Söderberg IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gästrike-hammarby the free kick. The supporters of Gästrike-hammarby booed when Tommy Söderberg IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ingemar Rudkvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Mårten Gerdberg notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Gästrike-hammarby's Sverker Möller. Sverker Möller was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hans Collin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 32 minutes, Nils-Erik Löfgren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gästrike-hammarby's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nils-Erik Löfgren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tommy Söderberg IF's Jim Björkkvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hans Collin in the 33rd minute of play. Hans Collin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 38thth minute of the game Hans Collin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tommy Söderberg IF's Jim Björkkvist was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 39 played minutes Tommy Söderberg IF got a freekick which was hit by Ingemar Rudkvist. In the 40th minute, Nils-Erik Löfgren left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gästrike-hammarby fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Jim Björkkvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nils-Erik Löfgren in the 43rd minute. Jim Björkkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hans Collin in the 46th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.
An unexpectedly hard shot by Hans Collin in the 53rd minute of play forced Tommy Söderberg IF's goalkeeper Jim Björkkvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jim Björkkvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hans Collin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ture Bergfeldt kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the match, Hans Collin notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Tommy Söderberg IF's Jim Björkkvist. Jim Björkkvist was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 71st minute, Per Vibjörnsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nils-Erik Löfgren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jim Björkkvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nils-Erik Löfgren in the 83rd minute of the match. After 85 minutes of play, Gästrike-hammarby's Hans Collin made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jim Björkkvist was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 88 minutes, Per Vibjörnsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gästrike-hammarby and the Tommy Söderberg IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the referee ended the match the Gästrike-hammarby players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
