A collision led to Mariannelund getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Oscar Gabrielsson hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Rydsgård's zone, Nils-Erik Bergfeldt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gabriel Jernberg came out of the goal and Nils-Erik Bergfeldt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Börje Lindqvist hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Rydsgård's Gabriel Jernberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Rydsgård from getting a goal against them. Mariannelund's Folke Bruse got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gabriel Jernberg was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nils-Erik Bergfeldt showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 40 minute of play. Nils-Erik Bergfeldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Jernberg having to interfere. Gabriel Jernberg made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Nils-Erik Bergfeldt sent off a good shot on target. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The crowd rose to their feet as Gabriel Gunnarsson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Leonardo Jakobsson. That made the score 1-1 in the 70 minute of play. Gabriel Jernberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nils-Erik Bergfeldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th minute, Bengt-Åke Höijer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nils-Erik Bergfeldt in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gabriel Jernberg saved Rydsgård from getting behind.
