In the 17th minute Malcolm Ivarsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marinos Kapelis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 17 minutes into the game, when Rasmus Hjelm put in a rough tackle. The referee gave Östra Ämtervik IK a penalty, 19 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jan-Ove Bergdal, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Kalmar FF's Marinos Kapelis. 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Malcolm Ivarsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Östra Ämtervik IK's supporters rose to their feet, but Malcolm Ivarsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marinos Kapelis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Michel Fagrell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Esbjörn Martinsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Esbjörn Martinsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michel Fagrell in the 37th minute of the match. 42 minutes into the match, Kalmar FF's goal looked a bit too open when Malcolm Ivarsson came free, but Marinos Kapelis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Malcolm Ivarsson to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Östra Ämtervik IK's Ingvar Valrot got a free kick in the 51st minute. A nice corner shot did that Andreas Eliasson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Esbjörn Martinsson quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a little luck, Östra Ämtervik IK's Esbjörn Martinsson got control of the ball when Michel Fagrell tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Malcolm Ivarsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marinos Kapelis was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. After 94 played minutes Kalmar FF got a freekick which was hit by Michel Fagrell. Tony Siöberg kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Östra Ämtervik IK succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Kalmar FF had controlled the match.
