Gilbert Qvarnström struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Martin Alströmmer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hammarby IF. In the 11th minute, Birger Martinsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th minute, Jens-Ove Henriksson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Örjan Lundqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jens-Ove Henriksson, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute.

Jarl Hylander hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. 53 minutes into the match, Stockamöllan's goal looked a bit too open when Gilbert Qvarnström came free, but Martin Alströmmer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Stockamöllan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Martin Alströmmer should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Jens-Ove Henriksson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stockamöllan's supporters rose to their feet, but Jens-Ove Henriksson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Örjan Lundqvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
