In the 10th minute Per-Erik Fribäck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fritz Alberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Michel Algren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Conny Blomqvist having to interfere. In the 17th minute, Påarp's Rolf Lindkvist seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Rolf Lindkvist the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Påarp protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Rolf Lindkvist had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Rolf Lindkvist hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Fritz Alberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Per-Erik Fribäck in the 22nd minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Kasper Danielsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fritz Alberg. Påarp's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kasper Danielsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Kasper Danielsson got in the 28th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Fritz Alberg handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Påarp's Tomas Granberg got a free kick in the 29th minute. When Per-Erik Fribäck came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Avesta RK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Per-Erik Fribäck couldn't finish the play. Fritz Alberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per-Erik Fribäck, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half Avesta RK were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Kasper Danielsson made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Tomas Granberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Påarp fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Granberg in the 58th minute of play forced Avesta RK's goalkeeper Conny Blomqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fritz Alberg showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 88th minute, Stefan Ros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Karl-Erik Aronsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Conny Blomqvist having to interfere.
