Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Thomas Emander started the match with the kick off. A sloppy throw-in by Yngve Simonsson in the 4th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Motala AIF's Andreas Brolin. If Andreas Brolin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bengt Wästerberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 12 minutes of play, Motala AIF's Bengt Wästerberg made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Harry Ambjörnsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thomas Emander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Harry Ambjörnsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Ove Mager sped through Motala AIF's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Pontus Godholm. Thomas Emander struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Harry Ambjörnsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Motala AIF. Thomas Emander succeeded in the game's 26th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-2. 30 minutes into the game, Ove Mager was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Västra Skurholmen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Motala AIF the free kick. In the 30th minute, Ove Mager hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 33 minutes into the game, Motala AIF's Bengt Wästerberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Harry Ambjörnsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Västra Skurholmen's Harry Ambjörnsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thomas Emander in the 46th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ove Mager to make the kick off. The Motala AIF fans' excitement grew in the 51st match minute when Motala AIF's Thomas Emander looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A collision led to Motala AIF getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Bengt Wästerberg hit a great ball. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Västra Skurholmen's goalkeeper Harry Ambjörnsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 60 played minutes Västra Skurholmen got a freekick which was hit by Ove Mager. After a defensive mix-up in Västra Skurholmen's zone, Thomas Emander stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Harry Ambjörnsson came out of the goal and Thomas Emander tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Motala AIF's Simon Pihlberg got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Västra Skurholmen's goalkeeper Harry Ambjörnsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 71st minute, Thomas Emander reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Harry Ambjörnsson. The goal made the score 1-6. Thomas Emander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 77 played minutes Västra Skurholmen got a freekick which was hit by Yngve Simonsson. Thomas Emander recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 92nd minute, Ove Mager hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Harry Ambjörnsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thomas Emander in the 94th minute. When the final whistle sounded Motala AIF left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Västra Skurholmen.
