The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Boris Pil's late challenge caught a Kumla's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Boris Pil helped the player get up and apologised. Valter Britz succeeded in the game's 7th minute to get real power on a long shot . Gammelstad RK's Karl-Axel Caspersson hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 0-1! Robin Thedin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Niclas Hallgren in the 11th minute. Karl-Axel Caspersson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kenny Bergfeldt went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Karl-Axel Caspersson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas Holm in the 21st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Gammelstad RK's Paul Sandberg got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Kumla's Robin Thedin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niclas Hallgren in the 29th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrik Vacker in the 32nd minute of play forced Gammelstad RK's goalkeeper Karl-Axel Caspersson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd minute, Gammelstad RK's Bengt-Åke Ahlroht ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Robin Thedin. Robin Thedin yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Kenny Bergfeldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Karl-Axel Caspersson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kenny Bergfeldt was the one to do the kick off. Robin Thedin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niclas Hallgren, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. In the 62nd minute Gammelstad RK were awarded a corner. Jonas Gustafsson went to the cornerflag to take it. Karl-Axel Caspersson was a little too slow when Jonas Holm got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 68th minute. The score was now 1-3. Paul Sandberg hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Christian Lundgren from long distance, 80 minutes into the match, got Karl-Axel Caspersson's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 81 minutes into the match, Kenny Bergfeldt notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Gammelstad RK's Karl-Axel Caspersson. Karl-Axel Caspersson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 85th minute Niclas Hallgren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robin Thedin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Patrik Vacker took a quick shot and it went in 1-6 without a chance for Karl-Axel Caspersson to make any attempt to save it. Karl-Axel Caspersson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kenny Bergfeldt in the 96th minute.
