Tor Winström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ture Kämpe's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tor Winström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Nunez Salvidor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ture Hammarbäck, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Tor Winström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vilgot Nyström in the 11th minute of the match. The referee ignored IF Sylvia's protests and gave Josef Smed a yellow card for diving instead. Josef Smed hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ture Kämpe made a kick off. After a rather tough play, IF Sylvia's Ture Hammarbäck got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind IF Sylvia's goalkeeper Tor Winström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 59th minute Ture Hammarbäck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nunez Salvidor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ture Kämpe couldn't finish the play. Notvikens IK's Nunez Salvidor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ted Ahlrot in the 71st minute of play. After 81 played minutes IF Sylvia got a freekick which was hit by Edward Sjögren. Notvikens IK's attack was well implemented in the 83rd minute, but when Gabriel Gustafsson was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. IF Sylvia's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
