After a rather tough play, Vålådalen IF's Johnny Falck got a free kick in the 12th minute. 14 minutes into the game, Rune Eliasson lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Jarl Alebom. Alf Nordin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Vålådalen IF booed when Stråssa IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sixten Ström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vålådalen IF's Villiam Linquist couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Stråssa IFK. Per-Olof Kleen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Henrik Vassenius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jan Ferm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henrik Vassenius in the 36th minute of the match. Jan Ferm didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Henrik Vassenius went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. If Henrik Vassenius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alf Nordin was the one to do the kick off. Henrik Vassenius sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Alf Nordin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan Ferm having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 55th minute of the game. One of Stråssa IFK:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Vålådalen IF:s goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alf Nordin in the 70th minute of play forced Stråssa IFK's goalkeeper Jan Ferm to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vålådalen IF's Henrik Vassenius got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 73 played minutes Alf Nordin rounded Stråssa IFK's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-3. Jan Ferm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alf Nordin in the 77th minute of play. Jarl Alebom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rune Eliasson, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Henrik Vassenius received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Jan Ferm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jarl Alebom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rune Eliasson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rune Eliasson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
