Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Sydkoster's Sven-Åke Sundberg started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Through an outstanding action, after 3 minutes, Frank Johansson successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Åsenhöga's Frank Johansson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Åke Sundberg in the 4th minute of play. Frank Johansson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Åke Sundberg in the 6th minute of the match. Sven-Åke Sundberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Johansson having to interfere. If Jonas Henriksson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sven-Åke Sundberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Frank Johansson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Jan Wennerberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Börge Markusson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the match, Åsenhöga's Börge Markusson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jan Wennerberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jan Wennerberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sven-Åke Sundberg, 44 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 48 minutes into the game, Sven-Åke Sundberg recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Frank Johansson. Sven-Åke Sundberg showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Börge Markusson was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute, Charles Åkesson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 59th minute, Charles Åkesson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Göran Norberg got free with Jan Wennerberg in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 62nd match minute, Sydkoster was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gunnar Östlund to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Åsenhöga's zone, Sven-Åke Sundberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frank Johansson came out of the goal and Sven-Åke Sundberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Börge Markusson struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Jan Wennerberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Åsenhöga. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Sven-Åke Sundberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sydkoster's supporters rose to their feet, but Sven-Åke Sundberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frank Johansson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Sydkoster getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Charles Åkesson hit a great ball. When Göran Norberg came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Åsenhöga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Göran Norberg couldn't finish the play. Despite being the better team, Sydkoster failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
