Kenny Hake kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Emanuel Kellbom struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Roy Hultstrand didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ljungby. When Fred Österberg fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Vretstorp FK's Patrik Sjögren came free and shot a quick shot against goal 43 minutes in the game, fortunately Elliott Åkesson had problems saving as it came toward the left post. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emanuel Kellbom to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Aron Bållström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vretstorp FK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ljungby the free kick. After 52 played minutes Vretstorp FK got a freekick which was hit by Aron Bållström. Roy Hultstrand showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ingemar Beneth, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. 60 minutes into the game, Vretstorp FK's Conny Hellström nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Elliott Åkesson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elliott Åkesson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Emanuel Kellbom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 96th minute, Conny Hellström made a precise shot to the right of Elliott Åkesson. Ljungby's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Vretstorp FK's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
