But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vidar Åberg couldn't finish the play. 21 minutes into the match, Kennet Lenberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kristoffer Björklund. Mariefred's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kennet Lenberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. If Inge Nordin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29thth minute of the game Inge Nordin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mariefred's Kristoffer Björklund was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Skillingaryd FK booed when Mariefred was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vincent Böcklund didn't get a good kick on the ball. Inge Nordin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Inge Nordin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Through an outstanding action, after 46 minutes, André Nordkvist successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After the first half Skillingaryd FK were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The wind increased when Per-Erik Christoffersson made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Vidar Åberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kristoffer Björklund was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Kennet Lenberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Kristoffer Björklund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Skillingaryd FK's Vidar Åberg got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mariefred's goalkeeper Kristoffer Björklund, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 68th minute Per-Erik Christoffersson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Nordkvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Vidar Åberg fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Skillingaryd FK's protests and gave Vidar Åberg a yellow card for diving instead. Skillingaryd FK's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
