In the 4th minute, Bo Tham hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 5 played minutes, Åre BK's Richard Samuelsson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jonatan Lindman came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Åre BK reached it. In the 12th minute, Niclas Bållström ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Oskar Ek was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Peter Lenberg's late challenge caught a Gagnef IFK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Peter Lenberg helped the player get up and apologised. In the 15th match minute, Åre BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Peter Lenberg to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gagnef IFK's goalkeeper Jonatan Lindman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 25 minutes into the match, Gagnef IFK's goalkeeper Jonatan Lindman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kjell-Arne Wallin. George Skräddare hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Jonatan Lindman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rikard Hernström in the 27th minute of the match. Rikard Hernström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Jonatan Lindman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Gagnef IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Rikard Hernström came free, but Jonatan Lindman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 34 minutes into the game, Sven-Arne Skröder was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gagnef IFK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Åre BK the free kick. After 34 played minutes Gagnef IFK got a freekick which was hit by Sven-Arne Skröder. Jonatan Lindman made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Kjell-Arne Wallin sent off a good shot on target. When Rikard Hernström in the 48th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Jonatan Lindman kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-2 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Niclas Bållström was the one to do the kick off. When Rikard Hernström came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Åre BK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rikard Hernström couldn't finish the play. In the 62nd minute, Albin Henriksson made a precise shot to the right of Oskar Ek. Åre BK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. If Albin Henriksson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albin Henriksson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Oskar Ek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Åre BK getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Peter Lenberg hit a great ball. Frans Västerberg's late challenge caught a Gagnef IFK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frans Västerberg helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Gagnef IFK booed when Åre BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frans Västerberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Gagnef IFK defense, Rikard Hernström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonatan Lindman. The Gagnef IFK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonatan Lindman should have stopped the shot. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Gagnef IFK had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
