Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Degeberga IF's Nils Lundström started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Björn Wennerquist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joachim Wikander in the 7th minute. The supporters of Bruzaholm booed when Degeberga IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conny Hansson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14th minute Kent Ekberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mats Albohm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jan Larsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Mats Albohm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nils Lundström in the 18th minute of play forced Bruzaholm's goalkeeper Björn Wennerquist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Björn Wennerquist made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Joachim Wikander sent off a good shot on target. In the 32nd minute, Bruzaholm's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Joachim Wikander fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Mats Albohm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan Larsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 47th minute, Harry Åström had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. When Jens-Ove Åhlberg fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Degeberga IF's protests and gave Jens-Ove Åhlberg a yellow card for diving instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jan Larsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Conny Hansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Björn Wennerquist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jens-Ove Åhlberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Björn Wennerquist having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Degeberga IF's Per Albohm got a free kick in the 55th minute. Mats Albohm made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jan Larsson in the 58th minute. In the 64th match minute, Degeberga IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jens-Ove Åhlberg to maneuver through the defense. Jan Larsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mats Albohm having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Joachim Wikander managed to get in a good position for a shot. Degeberga IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Joachim Wikander was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Björn Wennerquist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 80th minute, Kent Ekberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Degeberga IF's Niclas Falk tried to score from far away in the 81st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Nils Lundström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Björn Wennerquist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ralf Söderlund struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Mats Albohm didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bruzaholm. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Degeberga IF players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
