The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Karl-Åke Säv hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Peter Hedlund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Daniel Alegren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 8th match minute, Sparreholm IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Håkan Björnberg to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Calle Dahlberg got free with Esbjörn Fogel in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bromölla's Esbjörn Fogel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ragnar Åberg in the 12th minute of play. In the 14th match minute, Sparreholm IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Birger Kjellkvist to maneuver through the defense. Sverker Julin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Bromölla defense, Calle Dahlberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Esbjörn Fogel. The Bromölla fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Esbjörn Fogel should have stopped the shot. Ragnar Åberg struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Esbjörn Fogel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sparreholm IK. The supporters of Bromölla booed when Sparreholm IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ragnar Åberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sverker Julin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Sparreholm IK booed when Bromölla was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hans Wiklund didn't get a good kick on the ball. With splendid footwork Ragnar Åberg arrived in front of goal to shoot 2-0 by the left pole in the game's 32nd minute. When Sparreholm IK's Ragnar Åberg in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Bromölla's supporters crossed their fingers, but Peter Hedlund was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Calle Dahlberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sparreholm IK's supporters rose to their feet, but Calle Dahlberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Esbjörn Fogel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Peter Hedlund made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ragnar Åberg in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Esbjörn Fogel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 54th minute, Peter Hedlund got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sverker Julin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Daniel Alegren made a huge save. In the 63rd minute, Peter Hedlund got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Esbjörn Fogel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Calle Dahlberg in the 92nd minute of play forced Bromölla's goalkeeper Esbjörn Fogel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sparreholm IK fans cheered their team off the field, for while Bromölla had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
