Agne Ivarsson in the 22ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Nils Bergdal, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After having played for 24 minutes, Torgny Eklund managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eriksmåla IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Torgny Eklund was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Gabriel Hamnberg came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Aneby FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gabriel Hamnberg couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Torgny Eklund in the 32nd minute of play forced Aneby FK's goalkeeper Michael Sundström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hans Siggman charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hans Siggman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 34 played minutes Aneby FK got a freekick which was hit by Hans Siggman. In the 35th minute of the match Bo-Erik Söderberg shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Michael Sundström showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpected shot in the 39th minute by Hans Siggman got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 43 minutes, Bengt Koch mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eriksmåla IFK and the Aneby FK players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Aneby FK booed when Eriksmåla IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bengt Koch didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tobias Julin was the one to do the kick off. If Per-Åke Säfström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Agne Ivarsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 55 minutes into the game, Aneby FK's Per-Åke Säfström nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nils Bergdal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. If Per-Åke Säfström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. Birger Åström hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. 63 minutes into the game, Tobias Julin lined in a short shot 2-2 behind a frustrated Michael Sundström. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agne Ivarsson in the 78th minute of play forced Eriksmåla IFK's goalkeeper Nils Bergdal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Per-Åke Säfström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute, Anton Kilström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
