In the 16th match minute, Mellbystrand was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by August Sandell to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Pelle Byström put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Ola Johnsson. Ola Johnsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pelle Byström, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. If Pelle Byström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute Daniel Berglund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marc Lindqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Slottsbron booed when Mellbystrand was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. August Sandell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Slottsbron's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pelle Byström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Mellbystrand's Ola Johnsson got control of the ball when Egil Löfgren tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the final whistle went the supporters of Slottsbron were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Mellbystrand side.
