Olof Moberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonatan Ryberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 6 played minutes, Timmernabben IF's Wilhelm Gernberg shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Olof Moberg came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Timmernabben IF reached it. Ulricehamn IFK's Olof Moberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Per-Åke Kellman in the 14th minute of play. Timmernabben IF's Stig-Åke Martinsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Timmernabben IF from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Timmernabben IF's Stig-Åke Martinsson got control of the ball when Magnus Hellström tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Allan Berg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd match minute, Timmernabben IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustav Henriksson to maneuver through the defense. Olof Moberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hans Hult, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hans Hult in the 32nd minute of play forced Ulricehamn IFK's goalkeeper Olof Moberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ulricehamn IFK's Olof Moberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Per-Åke Kellman in the 36th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Per-Åke Kellman in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olof Moberg saved Ulricehamn IFK from getting behind. Stig-Åke Martinsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Allan Berg, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Hans Hult was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 51st minute. Timmernabben IF's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Allan Berg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stig-Åke Martinsson having to interfere. Per-Åke Kellman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hans Hult recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Per-Åke Kellman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olof Moberg having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Hans Hult managed to get in a good position for a shot. Timmernabben IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Hans Hult was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Olof Moberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Timmernabben IF defense, Magnus Hellström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Stig-Åke Martinsson. The Timmernabben IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stig-Åke Martinsson should have stopped the shot. Ulricehamn IFK's Allan Berg got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Timmernabben IF were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
