Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Edmund Abrahamsson started the match with the kick off. Ernst Wennerström struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Johannes Olsmann didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alingsås IK. In the 8th minute Ernst Wennerström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johannes Olsmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ernst Wennerström in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Johannes Olsmann saved Matfors from getting behind. 14 minutes into the game, Edmund Abrahamsson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Stellan Lindholm. Edmund Abrahamsson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 22nd minute of the match Torsten Classon shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Johannes Olsmann showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Alingsås IK's goal looked a bit too open when Edmund Abrahamsson came free, but Stellan Lindholm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stellan Lindholm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmund Abrahamsson in the 29th minute of play. Matfors's Johannes Olsmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Olof Haström in the 31st minute of play. Stellan Lindholm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmund Abrahamsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. 36 minutes into the match, Alingsås IK's goalkeeper Stellan Lindholm had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gabriel Klemensson. When Gunnar Holmberg fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Matfors's protests and gave Gunnar Holmberg a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Matfors getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Gunnar Holmberg hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The audience was convinced that Edmund Abrahamsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stellan Lindholm was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. In the 55th minute Sven-Olof Haström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johannes Olsmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gabriel Klemensson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gabriel Klemensson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Ernst Wennerström came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Alingsås IK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernst Wennerström couldn't finish the play. Johannes Olsmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Olof Haström in the 72nd minute of the match. If Edmund Abrahamsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Gunnar Holmberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Matfors's supporters rose to their feet, but Gunnar Holmberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stellan Lindholm breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alingsås IK's Stellan Lindholm played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Klemensson in the 83rd minute of play. In the 84th match minute, Alingsås IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Asklund to maneuver through the defense. Matfors's Edmund Abrahamsson got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gabriel Klemensson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Stellan Lindholm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Johannes Olsmann made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Ernst Wennerström sent off a good shot on target. In the 92nd minute, Ernst Wennerström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Ernst Wennerström came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Alingsås IK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernst Wennerström couldn't finish the play.
